Summary

The goal of this grant is to fund projects that focus on farmworker needs at a regional level by offering essential skills and upskilling training for farmworkers to either advance in the agricultural industry and/or prepare for advancement outside of the agricultural sector. This grant program is intended to address multiple existing and emerging gaps in the current workforce system for farmworkers.

Eligibility

Nonprofit; Public Agency; Tribal Government | Eligible applicants include, non-profit organizations , local labor partners, tribal governments , community colleges, local workforce boards, education and training providers, and farmworker serving organizations. To promote high-quality program delivery and support innovative program designs, applicants are strongly encouraged to demonstrate established experience in workforce development (see SFP for more details). Individuals may not apply. | Target regions were identified. Region 1 will serve farmworkers in counties in the San Joaquin Valley or Northern California. Region 2 will serve farmworkers in counties in the Coastal region or Southern California. Applicants can serve participants in any region or county if the need for services is supported and outlined in the proposal. However, preference will be given to those serving counties within the identified regions.
